- 2 cups (packed) fresh basil leaves
- ¼ cup pine nuts
- ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt, plus more to taste
- 3 large cloves garlic, roughly chopped
- ¾ teaspoons nutritional yeast, optional to add a "cheesy" savory flavor
- Blend all ingredients in a food processor or blender, pushing down the sides as needed. Adjust salt and pepper to taste.
